Full-service Veterinary Ophthalmology

Animal Vision Center specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular conditions for all companion animals and exotic pets. We are a full-service veterinary ophthalmology practice with an in-house surgical suite, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy and laboratory facilities.

All patients receive a complete ocular, visual, and neuro-ophthalmic examination with slit lamp biomicroscopy and indirect ophthalmoscopy.

Additional diagnostic testing may include:

  • Fluorescein staining of the cornea
  • Schirmer tear testing
  • Tonometry
  • Ocular and Orbital Ultrasonography
  • Electroretinography
  • Gonioscopy
  • Cytology/Biopsy
  • Systemic blood pressure assessment
  • Blood Serological Testing

Available surgical procedure include but are not limited to:

  • Microsurgery of the cornea and lens
  • Corneal grafting procedures
  • Keratotomy and Keratectomy
  • Phacoemulsification for Cataract Removal with Lens Replacement
  • Removal of the lens due to lens luxation
  • Surgical correction of eyelid abnormalities (entropion, ectropion, laceration repair, eyelid tumor removal)
  • Cryotherapy for eyelid tumor removal and eyelash abnormalities (distichiasis, ectopic cilia, and trichiasis)
  • Laser treatment for intraocular tumors
  • Glaucoma filtration valve placement
  • Laser or chemical ciliary body ablation
  • Laser retinopexy for retinal detachment
  • Eye removal when necessary with intraocular or intraorbital prosthesis available for a more cosmetic appearance
