Emily, LVT

Emily was born and raised here in the Seattle area and has been in veterinary medicine for the past 3 years. Being around animals from a very early age, Emily always knew she wanted to work in veterinary medicine. However, after graduating high school in 2016, she decided to take a different route and went to school for human nursing. After a few semesters, Emily quickly realized that she wanted to become a nurse for animals, rather than humans. In January 2018 Emily enrolled in Pima Medical Institute’s Veterinary Technician program. She graduated in October 2019 and has been working as a licensed veterinary technician ever since. She has worked in general practice and a large specialty hospital, where she got most of her experience in Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine and Neurology. Emily is excited to continue to grow and advance her skills in veterinary ophthalmology here at Animal Vision Center. Outside of work, Emily enjoys live music, traveling, and being outdoors. She also loves spending time with her two Golden Retrievers and her one cat.

Melissa, LVT

Melissa was born in Long Beach, CA and raised here in Snohomish County, WA. Being surrounded by animals from an early age is what inspired her now 10 year career in veterinary medicine. In 2012, she graduated with a Veterinary Assistant certificate from Pima Medical Institute. After working for two years as an assistant, she decided to return to school to become a Veterinary Technician. She has now been licensed for 3 years, where she has worked as a leader in a large speciality hospital, finding passion within in the cardiology and surgical departments. Melissa also has been doing relief work in general and ophthalmology practices as she thrives in places where she can continue to learn and grow as a skilled technician. This has brought her to a new passion of providing ophthalmologic services to animals and their families. Melissa is excited to keep growing and advancing her career within a new hospital and specialty service.
